BEING tagged as one of the best luxury car brands in the world, Volvo is always a road eye catcher, not only because of its sleek design, but also because of its undeniably quality of performance.
Here in Iloilo, there are around 30 Volvo car owners who all serve as ambassadors of safety and style.
In order to intensify their advocacy on road safety, these car owners convened and named themselves "Volvo Club of Iloilo".
I, together with fellow blogger Antoine Greg Flores of Cafe Ilonggo and society columnists John Castigador (Panay News) and Zedrick Señeres (The Daily Guardian) were recently invited to the newly-formed club's meet and greet event.
Held at the private room of Iloilo's dessert capital, Desserts in the Sky, the said meet and greet event also served as Volvo Club of Iloilo's first conference where they got a chance to talk about their future events to further promote road safety as their primary advocacy.
Hosted by the club's president, Salvador "Buddy" Silva Jr. III, who is also the founder of SafeSat, the event was also highlighted by healthy discussions on the club's goals, members' benefits and future direction.
Other officers of Volvo Club of Iloilo were Paul Yap (Vice President), Alan Soriano (Treasurer), and Bob Llorico (Secretary).
