SM City Iloilo unveils mall expansion to tenants

SM City Iloilo provided its present and future tenants a glimpse of its much-awaited Northwing expansion and Southpoint development through a Tenants Preview on June 18.

The largest mall in Western Visayas will become even bigger with the additional 44,320 square meters development which is targeted to be operational by October.

SM City Iloilo’s Northwing expansion will have four floors and 165 units which is expected to be filled up by high-end stores and restaurants that will bring one-of-a-kind shopping and dining experience to the Ilonggos.

SM Supermalls president Annie Garcia said that the unprecedented growth of Iloilo City pushed them to be on the same phase for the customers experience the next level of lifestyle and entertainment.

She specifically cited the various infrastructure projects in Iloilo City such as the Iloilo Convention Center, the beautification and widening of the Diversion Road, the completion of the Circumferential Road and bridges, and the 1.2-kilometrer Iloilo River Esplanade. She likewise noted Iloilo City’s hosting of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) meetings as one of the factors of the unstoppable growth of this city.

“With these unprecedented developments, we believe that our customers deserve more. We will be giving Ilonggos more than what they deserve - more shopping, more dining and definitely, more fun,” Garcia said.

“With the expansion of the Northwing and the development of the Southpoint, we are here to give our customers more selections and greater opportunities to enjoy their moments right here in our mall,” she added.

Moreover, the expansion also promises the people that the mall will move up further not only as a community partner, but also a lifestyle mall and a business destination of choice as it will become a mecca of shopping, dining, recreating and leisure for Iloilo and the rest of Panay.

As SM City Iloilo expands to cater to the growing demand of the modern lifestyle, it still gives finds a way to give back to the community by generating more job opportunities and higher taxes which will contribute directly to the development of the city, province and the country.

Meanwhile, as part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) projects, Garcia said that SM Supermalls will continue to help uplift the lives of the people in the community by continuously ensuring that socially relevant concerns shall be addressed.

SM Supermalls will also play a vital in its initiative for a greener and a cleaner environment of the province by conservation and the protection of nature through its various initiatives.

    SM City Iloilo should put Ice Skating Rink for Ilonggos to experience it :)
