Ang Kamalig Restaurant: The taste that brings you home
This scene always feels like home. |
That picture of kamalig in my mind seemed to change after I found another food haven in the bustling “The Shops at Atria” in Mandurriao, which offers probably one of the best tasting Ilonggo dishes in a home-like ambiance.

After few years of being gone in the limelight, Ang Kamalig Restaurant is once again breathing with life. This time, the young Treñases are taking over the throne and trying out their expertise in management which has become effective in their other businesses.
Brothers Carlo and Miguel are the ones behind the new Ang Kamalig Restaurant. Carlo, who has been successful in running “Carlo’s Bakeshop” is the one in charge for marketing and customer relations, while Chef Miguel, who finished his culinary course in Culinary Institute of America (CIA) in Nappa Valley, is taking over the kitchen and the menu book. Their other siblings, Raisa, Gerry and Paolo are also helping in putting up everything into order – a siblings’ effort, indeed.

Its Tocino Del Cielo, Fried Ibos kag Ice Cream, Turon na Langka, Saba at Ube, Halo-Halo Special, Royal Bibingka, Leche Flan, and Kakanin Platter are among the top favorites of its patrons.
Those sweets are best paired with some refreshments of fruit juices squeezed with freshness. They also have some shakes less the milk as they are using yogurt as a healthier option.
