Wandering in Wonderful Cebu

I've gone to Cebu several times already, but I never had the chance to explore it aside from the Magellan's Cross and Sto. Niño Church due to job-related errands that I have to attend.

Luckily, just last month, Globe Telecom invited me to cover a series of events in Cebu and since my blogger duties ended just in time for the weekend, I decided to extend and explore the #WonderfulCebu.

Here are the places that I have explored in this wonderful side trip.

Let's start off with where to stay.


For accommodation, Quest Hotel & Conference Center - Cebu is highly recommended. This hotel offers cool ambiance, clean rooms and comfty sheets.

It's obvious how comfortable I am with my hotel bed in photo. LOL


Our room has also a good view of Cebu's urban jungle.



Aside from the clean, cool and comfty rooms that they have, Quest Hotel and Conference Center also got a really nice pool located at the 7th floor. And ofcourse, I never missed the chance to try it.

I had an early morning dip before I started off my #WonderfulCebu itinerary.





But if you're looking for a budget-friendly accommodation, it's best to check Airbnb just like what I did when I had my extended Cebu trip.


There are actually a lot of options came out when I searched for an Airbnb located in Cebu, but I chose Abaseria Deli Cafe B&B not only because of it's affordable rate which is just P1,050 per night for two persons, but also because it is the most accessible to all itineraries I have on my travel list.


The house is rustic but clean and the staff are really friendly. I love the vintage feels of the entire house. It has only three rooms and each has their own comfort rooms to provide every guest their much needed privacy.  



Abaseria is the name of the restaurant downstairs where you can enjoy your breakfast. It also serves homestyle dishes and displays some pasalubong items from different places. Here are some of the products being displayed in Abaseria.




We're done with the ideas on where to stay. And so, we're ready on where to go!

First stop: Tops Lookout.


This is one of the most accessible destinations in Cebu. Thanks to Go To Tops, a van rental service that tourists can book to reach Tops Lookout, Sirao Garden and Temple of Leah for only P350 roundtrip rate from Cebu City. This also include the entrance fee for Tops and a free drink. Visit their Facebok Page, Go To Tops for complete rates and schedule of trips.


Going back to Tops Lookout, this destination is one of the known spots in Cebu if you want to see the bird's eye view of the whole city. Located in Mt. Busay, it's viewing deck will give you a good sight of Cebu's urban jungle for an entrance fee of P100.



But its most familiar attraction is the hall made of circular patterns. Half of it was occupied by stores and shops where tourists can buy some refreshments. 




The other half is perfect for photoshoots. The place is really nice and cool (literally). No wonder it has been featured in some movies already.


You can also try ringing this bell to make your wishes come true. Me, I just wished for happiness at that time which I instantly achieved when I got to explore more of Cebu. :)


Since they are included in the itinerary of the van we rented, our #WonderfulCebu adventure continued in the Temple of Leah.


Dubbed as the Taj Mahal of Cebu, Temple of Leah is one of the newest attractions in Cebu. It is located in Busay, Cebu where Sirao Garden and Tops Lookout are also found.




For an entrance fee of P50 (free for kids below 10 and senior citizens), you can already travel back in time with its baroque designs while enjoying a nice view from the mountain top.



Temple of Leah is a testament of love of Teodrico Adarna (grandfather of actress Ellen Adarna) for his late wife Leah. Built in 2012, this temple has an architectural design patterned from Roman temples and neoclassical statues.




It's already late afternoon when we decided to go back to the city, just in time for another event included in our itinerary of the day.

It was a Saturday night and I'm in a mood to experience the Cebu's party scene. Luckily, we got an invite from Skywaterpark Cebu for it's weekend pool party.


Skywaterpark Cebu is one of the best places in Cebu if you want to experience party like no other. They are holding a pool party every Saturday night and a cultural show with buffet every Friday night. 



It is located at the 6th floor of J Centre Mall in Mandaue City adjacent to Tokyo Inn Hotel. It's main attractions include the pool with waterhouse and an infinity pool overlooking the skyline of Mandaue, Lapu-Lapu and Cebu.


Meanwhile if you just want to end the night smooth and relaxed, you can visit The Pyramid, a new wine and dine place in Cebu.


The structure of the restaurant is unique. More than its good food and fine wine offerings, people, mostly visitors go here because of its one-of - a-kind ambiance especially at night.




Opened just earlier this year at Cebu IT Park, The Pyramid offers great choices of pizza, pasta, salads, cheeses, beers and wines. We we're full that time and so we just decided to try out their cakes. We had Rainbow Cake, Chocolate Mousse Cake and Blueberry Cheesecake.




On my last day in Cebu, I decided to drop by SM Seaside City Cebu before catching my flight back to Iloilo. 


SM Seaside City Cebu features attractions that both the visitors and locals can enjoy.


The mall's centerpiece called "Cube" serves as a notable sight. 



It has also a Sky Park on its rooftop where mall goers can enjoy various sights. It also houses a number of restaurants and cafes where you can choose from. 



Kids can also enjoy playing at the park which features the designs of world-renowned Cebuano furniture designer Kenneth Cobonpue.


Other features of the mall include 18-lane bowling arena and olympic-size skating rink. Soon, the mall's 150-meter viewing tower will open.

Known to be the "Queen City of the South", Cebu has indeed a lot to offer. And I will surely be back soon to explore its other attractions.
