JCI Regatta to hold special screening for a cause
This line also became a driving force to Junior Chamber International (JCI) Regatta in holding an event that aims to bring entertainment at the same time help others who are in need.
This coming July 7, 2017, JCI Regatta will be having a special screening of the movie “Spider-Man: Homecoming” at SM City Iloilo Cinema 6.
The said special movie screening will serve as a fund raising event of JCI Regatta as its proceeds will benefit the upcoming projects of the chapter namely: “BALANGAW: Embracing the Colors of Life of the PWDs” and “Libro Dagdag Talino”.
“BALANGAW: Embracing the Colors of Life of the PWDs” is one of the treasured projects of JCI Regatta which aims to promote social responsibility among the young Ilonggos and create awareness in the society of the humble existence and determination of the persons with special needs.
Meanwhile, “Libro Dagdag Talino” is a literacy project of JCI Regatta which primarily aims to promote the value of education and learning among children by giving them book donations. To date, this project has already benefited thousands of indigent school children mostly from far flung areas of Iloilo and Guimaras.
JCI Regatta is an organization that empowers young people to create positive change, is composed of diverse young Ilonggo leaders ages 18 to 40 years old driven with a passion to serve and working together to bring about positive change to society.
Among the notable programs of JCI Regatta include The Outstanding Students of Iloilo Awards (TOSIA) which honors excellent Ilonggo students and the Pinoy Icon which acknowledges the great contributions of unsung heroes of the modern age in the society.
JCI Regatta’s special movie screening of “Spider-Man: Homecoming” was made possible by Kopiko 78◦C, Le Minerale, BE International Business College, Central Student Organization, University of San Agustin Student Council, Bombo Radyo Iloilo, Panay News and RMN Iloilo.
