EXPANSION PLANS FOR ILOILO
Sy revealed that with the bullish economy of Iloilo, SM is seeing to further expand its projects here noting that its Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) tower is now on its way in addition to its BPO towers in SM malls in Mall of Asia, Megamall, North Edsa, and Fairview.
Moreover, Sy also officially announced that they are building a 200-bedroom Park Inn Hotel in Iloilo. The construction of the said hotel will start by first quarter of 2017 and is expected to become fully operational by 2019.
SM’S FORMULA FOR SUCCESS
Sy likens SM growth to his father standing on top of the snow mountain wherein he lets the snowballs go down and as it goes down, it gets bigger and bigger.
“Over the last 30 years, it’s the same snow ball, just bigger. All the formula and all the approaches of the business is very much the same, which is customer service,” he explained.
I got the rare chance to have a selfie with Mr. Hans Sy. :) |
He added that they are very happy and proud of what SM has become today as it remained strong as before.
Learning from his father, the younger Sy shared that their formula of success include 50-percent hardwork, 40-percent guts and 10-percent luck.
“A lot of people would do business and then rely on luck. That is not supposed to be. Work hard to get yourself exposed to opportunities. It will take guts to really go into that opportunity. And with a little bit of luck, you will be ok,” he explained.
On a personal note, he said that he always reminds everybody to “focus and get organized, anticipate all the issues going to happen and make sure that everything is addressed even before it becomes a problem.”
With these upcoming developments SM promises to Ilonggos that there will be surely #MoreForYou!
