Sidro Dougnuts: Iloilo's newest doughnut craze
I call this sweetness in a box. :) |
Have you heard about Sidro Doughnuts? If you haven't yet, then you have been missing something that you shouldn't miss in the first place.
Sidro Doughnuts is Iloilo's newest doughnut craze! Well, it is not a surprise as within just a few months, it became popular among the Ilonggo foodies.
Meet the man behind Sidro Doughnuts! |
Just recently, I got to meet the brilliant man behind Sidro Doughnuts, Isidro Panizales Jr., who shared with me the story on how he ended up in a doughnut business.
Sid is an Ilonggo based in America. He worked there as a consultant for 12 years and eventually became successful in the corporate world.

However, office work somewhat stressed him. Thus, he looked for something that would distract him from work. That's the time he fell in love with baking.
To cut the long story short, Sid became deeply in love with baking until it came to the point that he made this hobby a profession. He became part of the the popular New York-based Dough Doughnuts as assistant cook. There he learned and mastered the art of making doughnuts and fell deeply in love with it (Sid actually considers doughnuts as his girlfriend.. LOL).
Last year, Sid finally decided to go back to Iloilo City to manage their family's cacao business. Yet, things changed when he let his family and friends taste his hand-made gourmet doughnuts. On that note, Sidro Doughnuts was born.
Named after his father Isdro Sr., Sid describes Sidro Doughnuts as doughnuts for the adults. It does not have attractive colors and toppings that other doughnuts usually have. Sidro Doughnuts provides another option to the doughnut lovers as it uses high quality and natural ingredients that typical doughnuts do not offer.
My favorite Chocolate Peanut Butter with Pretzel |
Since it is a gourmet doughnut, Sidro Doughnuts boasts its 11 unique flavors and still counting as Sid keeps on adding more varieties to give Ilonggos more options to kill their doughnut cravings.
The available flavors for now are: Calamansi with Poppy Seeds, Dolce de Leche with Toasted Coconut, Chocolate Peanut Butter with Pretzel, Chocolate Caramel, Coffee Cashew, Bugnay Berry, Sesame Soy, Salted Caramel, Mango Pistachio, Vanilla, and Cinnamon Sugar.
Every flavor will surely give you a one-of-a-kind doughnut experience as aside from the unique glazes, each doughnut was made into perfection manually by Sid himself, making it perfect as gift, snack or even pasalubong.
For now, Sidro Doughnuts does not have a store, but Sid said that they will soon open one. Isn't it good news to Sidro Doughnut fans?
For the meantime, Sidro Doughnuts sets up Pop-Up Shops in malls from time to time. It is also always present in trade fair events and food exhibits.
But if you're too lazy to go out, Sidro Doughnuts finds the way to your doorsteps. Just call (033) 503-6018 (Globe)/ 320-2559 (PLDT) or email sidrodoughnuts@gmail.com. Delivery is for free with a minimum of 2 dozens. Each doughnut only costs P25 or P300 per dozen.
Sidro Doughnuts is also available for pick up at its Production Kitchen located in 314 MacArthur Drive, Tabuc Suba, Jaro across Angelicum School.
