Brunch is always a good idea at DoVa
I am not a morning person and I always miss to eat breakfast. I’m always feeling the morning rush because I usually wake up late for office. Thus, I don’t have time to eat the supposed to be the most important meal of the day. As a result, I always end up having a brunch – breakfast and lunch.
Brunch persons like me will be surely delighted as Dova Brunch Café recently opened its second branch in Iloilo Business Park in Mandurriao after the success of its first branch located in Lapaz, near the public plaza. Ilonggos can now enjoy their brunch meals at anytime of the day.
Chef Miguel Cordova recently invited Iloilo bloggers for a food tasting event on its newest branch. He also told us the story on how he fell in love with the brunch culture which he eventually shared to his fellow Ilonggos through DoVa.
He said that he was amazed when he was exposed to the brunch culture when he visited a friend in Cambodia. He thought of bringing this kind of culture to Iloilo, especially that he noticed that Ilonggos are happy eaters.
“Brunch reflects Ilonggos’ attitude of taking things leisurely,” described Chef Miguel.
He added that a lot of foreign retirees and expats choose Iloilo City as their home. And bringing the brunch culture here will cater to their customary lifestyle.
DoVa Brunch Café was influenced by English, American and a little bit of Pinoy and Mediterranean cuisines.
Among the bestsellers of the restaurant is the all-time favorite
Pinoy almusal, Tocino. Yet, Chef Miguel’s personal pick is the Eggs Benedict which his favorite brunch meal ever since.
DoVa Brunch Café’s pastry line is also making a name of its own as diners always look for its breads and cakes.
The very minimalist interior of the restaurant is welcoming every diner with a happy vibe. I like its modern industrial design and the picture frames mounted on the walls that make every corner Instagram-friendly.
But ofcourse, the superstars are the yummy dishes that we have shared. To tease your craving palate, take a look of DoVa Brunch Café’s delightful offerings.
