The highly anticipated Robinsons Place Jaro has finally opened on Sept. 8.

Gracing the grand opening event of the said mall were Iloilo political leaders led by Gov. Arthur Defensor Sr., Cong. Jerry Treñas, Iloilo City Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog and Vice Mayor Joe Espinosa III. They were joined by Robinsons Land Corp. (RLC) senior vice president and general manager of commercial center division Arlene Magtibay, Robinsons Retail Holding president Robina Gokongwei-Pe, and RLC president and CEO Frederick Go.

Magtibay said that they are proud of Robinsons Place Jaro and optimistic that it will become successful given its strategic location near hospitals and schools and accessible to public transport.

She also said they have made sure that Ilonggos will have everything that they need inside the mall.

To note, the ground floor of the Robinsons Place Jaro houses retail shops, Robinsons Department Store, Robinsons Supermarket and restaurants that aim to cater to the modern Ilonggo lifestyle.

On the other hand, the second floor has the specialty stores offering diverse products and services.

The third floor serves as the entertainment and dining capital of the mall as it is where the Robinsons Movieworld with five digital cinemas and the Food Gallery which gathers local restaurants are located.

The mall also boasts its multi-level surface parkings, the Lingkod Pinoy Center at the basement and service hubs.

On his part,  Mabilog lauded RLC for establishing Robinsons Place Jaro as it will provide about 3,000 new job opportunities to Iloilo City on top of the indirect benefits that it will bring to the economy.

Defensor said that the presence of RLC in the city and province of Iloilo is an indication of the company’s faith in its bullish growth and development.

“I hope that we will remain partners in the progress and development of Iloilo for many years and this partnership will never end,” he added.

According RLC president and CEO Frederick Go, Robinsons Place Jaro is now 91 percent leased out and occupied. He thanked the local government of the province and city of Iloilo as well as its business partners for the support.

He also disclosed that the company is opening its third mall in Iloilo to be located in Pavia in the middle of next year.
