LIGHTHOUSES were made to guide the fishermen journeying the vast sea at night. It gives them light and signals them to the right direction back to the land.
This is the same concept as the lighthouse that I passed by along General Luna Street, Iloilo City. It’s just that instead of guiding lost fishermen, it guides empty stomachs to a delightful gastronomic experience.

Located beside the scenic Iloilo River, Lighthouse Resto + Bar might be one of the youngest homegrown restaurants in Iloilo City, but it has already earned a recognition as one of the best food destinations here with its wide-ranging food offerings derived from the cuisines found in various countries as a result of the owner’s love for travel and food as a flight attendant.

Lighthouse Resto + Bar fuses international menu with the distinct Ilonggo taste. Though its menu list is somewhat invaded by foreign dishes, once you try it, it will still bring you home. It is not only because of the way food were presented, but also because of the very homey ambiance that the place exudes.

Aside from the homey feels of the restaurant, what strikes me most is on how the interiors are artistically designed – the paintings hanging on the wall, the fixtures they are using, and the arrangement of every table. Every corner has its own theme, letting you choose the best one that fits your mood.

At the back of the restaurant is an open area where one can enjoy the natural beauty of Iloilo River while having an alfresco dining experience with the fine music of a live band. It also serves as the restaurant’s function space where various occasions and parties can be held.
