POTATOES have been part of the history of the Irish people as it became their staple food back in the 1800s when it was the only crop that they can grow to feed their families. However, potato famine came that resulted for over a million people to die due to hunger and diseases.
It took years for the Irish people to recover from the said tragic event that left a legacy of survival and resilience, making potato an integral part of their lives.
Last Aug. 27, “Irish Potatoes” opened at the second floor of Robinsons Place Iloilo. Offering different flavors of fries, the said store became an instant hit among Ilonggo foodies.
