DESPITE the phenomenal success that he is earning because of Kalyeserye, Alden Richards said that he remains to be the same person because of the constant reminders of the “dabarkads”.

Alden described his colleagues in the country’s longest noontime show, Eat Bulaga, as "the best people in the industry" as they keep him grounded.

“They remind me everyday to be the same person I am when I started. Never ever change, don’t let success get into your head kasi once it gets to your head, that’s the start of your downfall,” he said.

He considers his being part of Eat Bulaga as a blessing from God as it helped him stay the same amidst the popularity that he is earning at present because of his spit screen love story with Maine Mendoza aka Yaya Dub.

He added that the dabarkads remind him to always put fame in his heart and not in his head.

Kasi sa Eat Bulaga, kung ano sila on-cam, ganun sila off-cam. Makulit, mababit, makuwento at nung bago ako, hindi nila ako pinabayaan and that’s what I appreciate about them. They give you piece of advice everytime and they remind me of who I am.”

LESSONS LEARNED

Alden learned a lot of lessons out of the many challenges that Lola Nidora gave him to prove his love to Yaya Dub. But the most important value that he learned is to make sacrifices before you achieve that things that you really want.

Pag gusto mong makuha ang isang bagay, kailangang paghirapan, kailangang pagsumikapan para makuha mo at pag nakuha mo sya, you’ll feel rewarded na parang, ‘I deserve this kasi pinaghirapan ko to.’”

Alden also wants to make the audience realize the values that Kalyeserye want to convey. One of those is bringing back the manners and respect to elders.

Kalyeserye has been portraying the classic way of courting which is popularly known as the Filipino tradition of pamamanhikan.

“Kalyeserye is a way of tapping Filipino viewers to bring back the old-school as it has more sense and brought back values, especially being gentleman and prioritizing things and getting the things in God’s time or tamang panahon,” Alden noted.
