Brightest Ilonggo personalities grace ‘Tropical Movement’ runway

The brightest and youngest Ilonggo personalities answered summer’s call as they took over the runway with their trendy summer looks for Tropical Movement on April 29 at SM City Iloilo Southpoint.

A summer themed fashion show, Tropical Movement featured 32 young Ilonggo fashion enthusiasts and brought 11 big brands together to give the Ilonggo fashionistas the latest styles this season.

Ilonggo fashion icon and Tropical Movement stylist Nana Loring shared that trends this summer are mostly played with floral prints and pastel colors. She added that Havana look as well as Cuban and Mexican-inspired fashion mostly associated with off shoulder tops and fringes for women and bright colored prints for men are also in this summer.

Though intended for rainy days, Loring said that men can still wear bomber jackets and can complement one’s summer OOTD to give comfort despite the unpredictable weather.

For women, long see through cardigans are the best if you want to have comfortable transition upon experiencing erratic weather conditions.

However, she advised that styling doesn’t need to follow the trend. The best thing to do is to experiment and choose the style that perfectly fits your body type.

“Choose the right color and pieces to go with your look. A plain shirt, layered with kimono or jacket to pair with good denim or shorts, mandals or sneakers and a rocking eyeglass or hat can make the world your runway,” he said.
