As hablon's revival also signals its renaissance. Little by little, the heritage of this traditional fabric comes back to life as local designers like Miag-ao native, Nono Palmos who continuously promote the fabric in his creations, making it known to the whole country and even abroad as Iloilo's heritage fabric.

Other Ilonggo designers also help boost hablon weaving industry by promoting the said fabric in the local fashion scene. They even make it as the highlight of the Iloilo Designers' Week as they use it for their Gala Night creations.
Indeed, hablon is one tradition that Ilonggos should carry and pass on to the generations to come. More than a heritage, it is one intricate local product which portrays Ilonggos' patience, perseverance, and artistry.
Ilonggo designers show their support for Miag-ao's hablon industry as they pose in front of Sto. Tomas de Villanueva church wearing hablon shawls. |
